RADIO partners organised the second technical meeting of the project in Nafpaktos, Greece on 14 and 15 November 2016. The meeting was hosted by the Embedded System Design and Application Lab which belongs to the Computer & Informatics Engineering Department of Technological Educational Institute (TEI) of Western Greece. During the meeting, RADIO technical partners collaborated in order to prepare the RADIO technology that will be used for the next RADIO pilot at Fundació Hospital Asil de Granollers (FHAG)in Barcelona, Spain.
An innovative research space simulating a real home which is monitored by advanced robotic equipment was launched in October 2016 at partner NCSR "Demokritos" premises in the context of the RADIO project.
The research space, which was recently completed with the help of companies IKEA Greece and KOTSOVOLOS, is situated at the Library of partner NCSR "Demokritos".

The RADIO technical partners held their first technical meeting on 21st and 22nd of April 2016 in Athens. The technical partners discussed current progress towards the intermediate trials at FSL this summer and tested how the ADL recognition components developed by different partners integrate and interact. Athens Science Festival 2016 took place from the 5th until the 10th of April in Athens, Greece and was visited by more than 31.000 people! The RADIO team of NCSR ‘Demokritos’ presented RADIO on the 9th and 10th of April. Our goal was to familiarize the general public with the RADIO approach to clinical monitoring and, specifically, with the distinction between using a camera and using abstract information extracted from the visual signal captured by a camera.
"Zacharias", Robotnik’s Turtlebot2 acquired in the context of RADIO Project, made its first steps at the premises of Embedded System Design and Application Laboratory (ESDA Lab - http://esda-lab.cied.teiwest.gr) of RADIO partner Technological Educational Institute of Western Greece (TWG) and was recently presented to the public.
Zacharias was exhibited by Assistant Professor Nikolaos Voros, Head of ESDA Lab, at TWG at Antirion during a high school visit and made a big impression! Watch the short video here:
RADIO medical requirements concern monitoring Activities of Daily Living (ADL). During the summer’s usability pilots at Fondazione Santa Lucia’s premises, among other ADLs, we are going to record how long it takes to a) stand up out of a chair and b) walk 4m. But what are the steps to develop a method that actually monitors these ADLs?
RADIO held its first plenary meeting on 1st and 2nd of February 2016 at Fondazione Santa Lucia premises in Rome.
